Corona del Mar which is Spanish for the "Crown of the Sea", is a beautiful community located south of Newport Beach along Coast Highway. It is located at the base of the San Joaquin Hills and along the front of the Pacific Ocean. There are some of Orange County's most prestigious residential communities in Corona del Mar. Featuring areas such as Cameo Shores and Shore Cliffs, these homes have expansive ocean views. There are ocean front homes that are built right into the cliffs and are located right near little Corona.
The Village is located in downtown Corona del Mar. The Village features upscale shopping, dining, and night clubs for entertainment. The streets of Corona del Mar are each named after different flowers, and they run in alphabetical order. The first of the flower streets is Acacia, and the last flower street is Poppy. Each of these streets are lined with a different variety of trees.

Corona del Mar is also home to Corona del Mar State Beach. This beach is framed by the rock jetty (which is the east side entrance to Newport Harbor) and the cliffs behind it. Corona del Mar State beach is a popular place for swimmers, divers, and surfers. You will also see boats moored out in front enjoying the beautiful scenery, and beautiful weather. "Big Corona" is a great place for families because the waves are typically smaller. "Little Corona" is a place to view the tide pools and the ocean life.

Corona del Mar also has very temperate weather with cooler evenings, and during the summer months, the days heat up to the mid 70's. Corona del Mar also is subject to the coastal onshore flow, which burns off during the mid morning.
Corona del Mar has many different areas in which to find residential real estate. The Village is a popular area and there are both condo's and single family homes. Located on both sides of Coast Highway, there has been a significant amount of remodeling and rebuilding, and many of these homes are newer. Cameo Highlands is located in the old Corona del Mar area, and is located on the inland side of Coast Highway. Some of these homes have ocean and Catalina views as well, and these homes are also single story. Cameo Shores is across Coast Highway and has 170 homes, that initially were single story. Many have been remodeled and rebuilt, however, there is a height restriction so each of these homes retain their view. There is only one street in Cameo Shores that most of the homes do not have a view, and that street is Hampden Road.
